From 25 March 2018, the Australian Airline will re-route is existing A380 Sydney-Dubai-London services via Singapore as part of its extended partnership with Emirates Airline.
The existing QF1 and QF2 services to/from London via Dubai will now be replaced with a stop via Singapore, replacing an existing A330 service between Sydney and Singapore. The Australian airline will also upgrade its Melbourne/Singapore A330 service to the super jumbo (QF35/QF36) replacing its A330 counterpart ex Melbourne. The airline plans to take its thrice-weekly Melbourne to Singapore A330 daily (QF37/QF38) also.
The changes coincide with the airlines new Boeing 789 series aircraft operating nonstop between Perth and London. The airline will not be operating any of its own metal between Australia and Dubai.
In 2019 Qantas will remove 30 economy class seats from its existing A380 fleets and replace them with an additional six business and 25 premium economy seats. Completion is expected by the end of 2020.
